Cold weather is upon us! This calls for cozy sweaters, sittin’ fireside, and drinking warm beverages! We do like to treat ourselves out every once and awhile but if we have all the ingredients at home, why not make them ourselves?? Today we’re coming at you with two at home latte recipes!
Vegan Golden Milk Latte
I actually found this recipe from 40 Aprons. Their recipe was for an iced latte which would be great in the Summer, but I wanted a lil’ cozy beverage! Plus heat will help activate the curcumin in the turmeric! The only thing I didn’t have for this recipe was cardamom, but good thing it was only a pinch!
Ingredients
- 2-3 cups of almond milk
- 3 tbsp of maple syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp of turmeric
- 1/4 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp of ginger
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of cardamom
- 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract
Mix it all in a sauce pan or over ice and you’re good to go!
Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte
That’s right…an at home, inexpensive fall favourite… and its VEGAN! I’ve been meaning to create a good recipe for this fall latte because I’m definitely prone to going out to buy it a little too much when the weather gets colder. I wanted to spend less money, and I wanted to prove to myself that I could create a super yummy dupe. Now I cannot stop drinking it!
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp pumpkin puree
- 2 tbsp sugar (more or less, depending on how sweet you like yours)
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 shot of espresso
Combine all ingredients into a saucepan over medium heat to heat up, you don’t want to actually boil it. While your pumpkin mixture is heating up, make your espresso shot. Lastly, add your pumpkin mixture into the mug with your espresso. If you’re feeling a little extra, feel free to add some coconut whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon!
What’s your favourite fall beverage?? We’re always looking for new recipes!!
